A comedy featuring eight gay friends who hash out their passions, resentments, and fears over three summer weekends at a farmhouse in Dutchess County, New York. "Love! Valour! Compassion!" won the 1995 Tony Award for Best Play and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play. The play opened Off Broadway in 1994 and then transferred to Broadway in 1995. "Mr. McNally hasn't written a play about gay people living straight lives. It's a comedy about some comparatively privileged gay people in a world whose problems are ultimately shared by everyone." One of America's greatest playwrights, he had won Tony awards for this play and "Master Class," as well as for the musicals "Ragtime" and "Kiss of the Spider Woman." Signed copies of "Love! Valour!
