Boards slightly cocked, edges lightly rubbed, stray ink mark to bottom page edge, internally clean and bright. The unclipped dust jacket has a bit of edge wear, light soiling to panels, and a crease in rear flap. A Very Good copy. INSCRIBED on the front free end paper: "To / The one I love with all my love, / H.E.R. / December 18th, 1963." The English critic and poet's autobiography, presented here in four parts that were written at different times of his life. Read (1893-1968) was especially influential as an art critic and championed such artists as Barbara Hepworth, Ben Nicholson, and Henry Moore. SCARCE signed. Item #1470
