SIGNED by Lester Cole on a preliminary page. Cole (1904-1985) was a screenwriter and one of the Hollywood Ten, men who refused to answer questions in Congress about their alleged Communist affiliations. The book, sympathetic to the Ten, tells their story. Foreword by Thomas Mann. SCARCE SIGNED.

CONDITION: Some rubbing to boards, very light toning to page edges, light soiling to top and bottom edges. A Very Good copy in an unclipped dust jacket that has some nicks and tears as well as heavy soiling, especially to the rear panel, and fading to spine. Item #1589
