Rice Pereira also wrote poems that are featured here.On election day in 1977, mayoral candidate Ed Koch showed up to vote at NYU's Loeb Student Center and viewed the nearby exhibition. "Mr. Koch called the show 'marvelous' and, as a loyal Greenwich Villager, remarked, 'I ask you -- is there another polling place in the city that has an art gallery with it?'"
