The paperback edition of this collection of poems and prose, published simultaneously with the hardcover edition. New Directions Paperbook NDP361, with $1.75 price printed on lower wrapper. Besides the poems, some of Ferlinghetti's prose pieces are noteworthy, especially his description of an appearance by Ezra Pound at Spoleto: "The voice knocked me down, so soft, so thin, so frail, so stubborn still.
