Indeed, there's a staggering array of references to the past: the Boston Tea Party, Sacco and Vanzetti, JFK's assassination, the Titanic, baseball, horse racing, James Joyce, Jack Kerouac, and on and on. CONDITION: Near Fine, with minor rubbing to cloth, internally clean, bright, and unmarked. The dust jacket has a bit of edge wear and soiling as well as the ghost of a sticker to the upper panel (not cool). Some offsetting from the black cloth to the inside of the jacket (visible only when jacket is removed from book). Fine in a Very Good jacket.
