Exhibition catalogue focusing on artistic renderings of the Epic of Gilgamesh (in German, Gilgamesch), a Mesopotamian king. With drawings by Willi Baumeister and prints by Baumeister, Richard Janthur, Josef Hegenbarth, Rolf Nesch, and Emil Schumacher. Baumeister (1889-1955) had long been interested in the ancient art and culture of the Near East.
