New York: Self-published, 1949.

16mo (6 3/4 x 4 7/8 inches; 172 x 125 mm), 38 pages, in printed green wrappers (soft cover).

Text of a 1949 lecture by Earl Browder, who had been ousted as leader of the Communist Party USA in 1946. He argues that socialism and capitalism must coexist and even cooperate, a viewpoint that contributed to his expulsion from the leadership and Party following World War II.

Earl Browder (1891-1973) was a prolific author. Following his expulsion, he self-published many of his publications, including this mimeographed pamphlet, since he no longer had access to the Party's extensive web of publishing outlets.

CONDITION: Some sunning to wrapper extremities and a few smudges to the mimeographed text. A Very Good copy. Item #2439
