INSCRIBED on the title page: “For Ted Weiss – warmly, Alicia Ostriker.” Theodore Weiss was a Princeton professor and, along with his wife, Renée Karol Weiss, the longtime editor and publisher of the legendary Quarterly Review of Literature. A nice literary association.

This is the second collection of poems by Alicia Ostriker (b. 1937), who was a professor of English at Rutgers University. Some of the poems deal with pregnancy and motherhood. Besides writing the poems, she also drew the cover image.

PHYSICAL DETAILS: Small Quarto (9 x 6 inches; 228 x 151 mm), unpaginated, in stapled, illustrated wrappers (soft cover).

CONDITION: Slight curling to bottom corner, ghost of sticker and evidence of water damage to rear cover, line marked out on copyright page, but otherwise clean and unmarked. About Very Good. Item #2723
