Profusely illustrated souvenir program featuring dancers and set designs of the Ballets Russes for the 1947-47 season. Laid in are four loose plates on magazine stock featuring large photographs and biographical sketches of Alicia Markova, Anton Dolin, André Eglevsky, and Lubov Tchernicheva.
Ballets this season include Francesca da Rimini, Constantia, Aurora's Wedding, Graduation Ball, Scheherazade, The Firebird, Cain and Abel, Fantastic Symphony, Yara, Le Spectre de la Rose, Mute Wife, Choreartium, Swan Lake, Prince Igor, San Sebastian, and Les Sylphides. Among choreographers, there's Balanchine, Nijinsky, and Massine (among others).
Set and costume designs (which are shown here in watercolor) include contributions from Bakst, Derain, Gontcharova, Gris, Miró, Rouault, and de Chirico.
