Intimidations of Mortality: Poems on Victorian Themes With Psychological Implications
London: The Gogmagog Private Press, 1977. First Edition, First Printing.
SIGNED by Morris Cox on the colophon, one of 90 numbered and signed copies printed on Hodgkinson's and Japanese Mingei handmade papers.
The book features four original intaglio prints interspersed with the 11 poems, which deal with death. Cox (1903-1998) explains the meaning of each poem in a "Notes" section at the end of the book. The poems' subjects "are drawn from religious tracts, magazines and other Victorian ephemera," he writes.
