Paradise Outlaws: Remembering the Beats. John with Tytell, Mellon.

Paradise Outlaws: Remembering the Beats

New York: William Morrow and Company, Inc., 1999. First Edition, First Printing.

Small Quarto (10 1/4 x 8 1/8 inches; 260 x 207 mm), 226 pages, in quarter-cloth and boards, titles in silver to spine, in a photo-illustrated dust jacket.

SIGNED by both the author and photographer on the title page, where Mellon has also written "Good Luck" above her signature.

This is a collection of essays by noted Beat scholar John Tytell with accompanying photographs by Mellon, his wife. "Essays" really doesn't do this book justice, because Tytell also writes about his life among the Beat writers. Lots of fabulous anecdotes from someone who knew them well. A lot of great pictures, too.

Copies signed by both author and photographer are uncommon in the market. An attractive copy.

CONDITION: Very slight bend to the rear board and small stain to lower fore edge. Internally, clean, tight, and unmarked. The unclipped dust jacket has a small mark at the bottom of the upper panel. A Near Fine copy overall. Item #603

Price: $125.00
