Auster's first book, a mimeographed collection of his translations of poems by French Surrealist authors André Breton, Paul Éluard, René Char, Benjamin Péret, Tristan Tzara, Antonin Artaud, Philippe Soupault, Robert Desnos, Louis Aragon, and Hans Arp.
The painter George Schneeman, who collaborated on books with numerous East Village poets, illustrated the upper wrapper and colophon. RARE signed by both Auster and Schneeman.
CONDITION: Some light soiling to both wrappers with minor staining to the lower edge of the lower wrapper. Small black dot on fore edge. Overall, a Very Good copy. Item #753
